We begin with inquiries from Conservative lawmaker the committee chair, who chairs the committee.
She opens by giving background to the disclosed memorandum written by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning this way or that way, My only wish is for it neutral, unbiased and just," he says.
In response to a query if he considers the BBC is structurally prejudiced, Prescott responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, numerous aspects the BBC does is exceptional - encompassing factual and non-factual shows."
But he adds: "There exists significant effort that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC very seriously and that it operates a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted issues.
"Whether the BBC was prepared to engage in a genuine conversation and exchange and act accordingly?" she reflects. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
