Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global break, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
