'Our Mission Involves Only Executing' - The Way Sudan's Ruthless Militia Perpetrated a Mass Killing

Militiamen chuckle as they ride on the bed of a pick-up truck, speeding by a series of multiple dead bodies and driving in the direction of the sinking African sun.

"Look at all this accomplishment. Observe this ethnic cleansing," a fighter shouts.

The fighter grins as he turns the video equipment on himself and his fellow fighters, their paramilitary identification clearly shown: "They will all die like this."

The combatants are celebrating a massacre that aid workers fear resulted in the deaths of over thousands of people in the African city of el-Fasher in recent weeks.

A City Cut Off from the Outside

Having held the city under encirclement for approximately two years, from August the militia proceeded to reinforce its control and blockade the remaining residents.

Space-based imagery reveal that fighters commenced to build a massive sand wall - a elevated dirt embankment - around the boundaries of el-Fasher, sealing off roads and preventing relief supplies.

While the blockade worsened, 78 civilians were killed in an RSF attack on a religious building on 19 September, while the UN stated fifty-three additional were slain in aerial and artillery strikes on a refugee settlement in October.

Disturbing Footage Shows Weaponless Civilians Gunned Down

By sunrise on 26 October the paramilitary force conquered the last government defenses and captured the primary headquarters in the city, the main facility of the 6th Infantry Division, as the military pulled back.

Perhaps the most graphic videos to appear and examined revealed the consequences of a atrocity at a university building on the western side of the urban area, where dozens lifeless forms were seen spread throughout the ground.
